What makes Saltwrights salt different from other brands
Saltwrights are reintroducing historic and artisanal salt making methods, working with nature, not against it. We take our inspiration from the Norfolk coast and a gentler way of life. Pure salt and pure intentions!
What gives your salt its distinctive flavour?
Each batch is unique depending on weather conditions, much like fine wine vintages. We leave most minerals in, removing only a small amount of calcium sulphate that results in a sweet, briny finish.
Is the texture of Saltwrights different from other salts
Yes. Due to the uniqueness of Saltwrights, every pouch will have a true variation denoting a time and place. This means flaky as well as crunchy and soft crystals will all be present.
Is your salt suitable for cooking & baking?
Absolutely. It can be used in everyday cooking to enhance flavour and finish dishes from eggs and steaks to desserts and puddings. Some bakers may however decide to grind it further when specifically making doughs.
Can I use your salt in a salt grinder?
Yes, people do. However it's worth noting that due to the high magnesium content, the salt may draw in moisture and clog over time.
How should I store my salt to keep it at its best
If you use finishing salt every day, a salt pig is ideal. If however you're an occasional user, we recommend keeping it in the resealable pouch. Always remembering that due to the mineral content in Saltwrights some moisture can be drawn in over time.
What makes your production methods more sustainable than industrial alternatives?
Saltwrights was born out of a desire to make a product with minimal impact to our planet. From our home on an organic farm in tandem with the fact we rely almost entirely on the power of the sun and the wind, means we are far more sustainable than almost all other commercial salt brands in the UK.
Is your packaging recyclable or environmentally friendly?
Yes. Our pouches are fully recyclable in large supermarkets and produced here in the UK. We chose their lightweight design to reduce fossil fuels in transportation as well as the energy absorbing process of recycling products such as glass or metal.
