The process shaped by patience & inspired by a sense of place
Three slow steps, no speeding up
Step 01
Sea water collection
The journey to great salt begins at the coast.
Clean, filtered seawater is collected by Simon, our wonderful tanker driver directly from the North Norfolk coast, close to the Royal Sandringham Estate — one of the most pristine stretches in England,
North Norfolk coastline — England
Step 02
Left to the sun & wind
The seawater travels inland to our salt houses on Salle Moor Hall Farm. Closest to the Celtic method we rely on nature to perfect Saltwrights. Over the course of several weeks, sun and wind slowly draw the water away, concentrating the brine until crystals begin to form. Understanding the weather and controlling the brine density are the only tools available to the Saltwright. No gas, no electric, no added chemicals means each batch is high in trace minerals and unique. A true vintage and a snapshot of a time and place.

Step 03
Harvested & finished entirely by hand
Once ready, every crystal is harvested by hand and air dried. Back in the Saltwrights kitchen, the salt is sorted, dried a final time, and packaged by hand. No additives, no rushing. Just pure Norfolk sea salt, ready for your kitchen.
